SAVE FOOD - Together Against Food Loss and Waste

The SAVE FOOD Initiative is a global alliance dedicated to the responsible use of resources along the entire food supply chain. Its goal is to sustainably reduce food loss and waste worldwide.

SAVE FOOD brings together industry, research, policymakers and civil society. The initiative focuses on innovative approaches in agriculture, logistics, processing and packaging, as well as activities that raise awareness among private households and strengthen political dialogue.

The initiative was founded by Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, interpack and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Today, SAVE FOOD is also supported by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

Together, the partners drive sustainable solutions along the entire value chain — helping to reduce food loss and promote a more conscious use of resources.
