Mr. Glimm was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1957. He is an economist with more than 30 years of experience working in national, European and global organizations. In the beginning of his career he focused mainly on sustainability, energy policy and public relations in organizations such as the German Non Ferrous Metals Association, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) - working out of UNEP’s global headquarter in Nairobi, Kenya on global environmental issues and European Aluminium Association (EAA), developing the principles for the collection and compiling of life cycle data and generating first sustainability indicators for aluminium.
Mid of 90ies his focus switched to downstream activities like the beverage can and foil in his double function as Managing Director of the German Aluminium Association (GDA) and the European Alumimium Foil Association (EAFA).
