The topic of packaging is of central importance in relation to SAVE FOOD. For this reason, interpack, the leading international trade fair for processing and packaging, plays a decisive role for the SAVE FOOD initiative, which has been fighting against food loss and waste worldwide since 2011.

Some exhibitors at interpack, who are also members of the SAVE FOOD initiative, will be presenting an insight into new technologies and solutions that help to reduce food loss and increase product safety as part of the SAVE FOOD Highlight Route.

On 9 May 2023, the “Spotlight Talks & Trends” forum will focus on “Product Safety - Increasing Productivity and Saving Food”, providing participants with lectures and further information on the fight against food loss and waste.

SAVE FOOD booth

The SAVE FOOD booth in the North Entrance of interpack (booth number EN/C03) will provide information about the SAVE FOOD initiative and show initial results of the joint study with Bahçeşehir University Istanbul (BAU) on the production of bio-based packaging materials from food waste or food by-products.
